The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. (John 3:35, NLT)
I've been checking out the devotionals on cbn.com each morning. Today's verse made me uncomfortable. This verse refers to God placing everything in Christ's hands, but when I read it, it spoke to me personally, being God's daughter and Him entrusting things into my hands. What has God put into my hands? Small group leader, daughter, big sister, the only Christian in my apartment, girlfriend, friend, accountability partner, mentor, mentee, designer, employee, child of God. These are some of my roles and responsibilities God has put into my hands. Reading that verse made me feel the weight of that responsibility. God loves me and put these things into my hands, trusting that I will not bury my talents of gold but go and invest them for His glory. And the part that speaks to my heart most is that He loves me, which is why He has put these things into my hands. How can I do anything less than doing my best to glorify Him with these things? How can I do anything less than respond back to His love for me.
